MUNICH, 11 MARCH 2026:

Successful opening night on 10 March 2026 at Alte Kongresshalle, Munich

The Bike Film Tour launched its second season last night to resounding applause and an enthusiastic audience. Cycling, outdoor, and film fans gathered at the Alte Kongresshalle in Munich to experience the new Season 2 film selections on the big screen for the very first time. The approximately two-hour program delivered a dynamic mix of urban cycling culture, elite athletic performance, and inspiring personal stories. Striking visuals, powerful narratives, and spectacular action created a vibrant festival atmosphere throughout the venue.

A highlight of the evening was the live appearances of several people featured in the films. Among those taking the stage was Ines Vahrenkamp, featured in the film BREAKAWAY FEMMES, who shared insights into the history and evolution of women’s cycling. Flatland BMX professional Omari Cato, the subject of MR. CATO, captivated the audience with personal reflections on his work as both an athlete and mentor. Albert Rabaev, the central figure in WIE DER HASE LÄUFT [How the Rabbit Runs], spoke about his daily life as a bicycle courier navigating speed, risk, and the pulse of urban mobility. Their conversations with the audience underscored the diversity and vitality of modern cycling culture.

The remaining films in the program were equally well received. OKAWARI,PLEASE! transported viewers on an atmospheric bikepacking journey through Japan, while UCX generated excitement with its innovative approach to urban cycling storytelling. The program concluded with MANDALA, which took audiences into Nepal’s breathtaking mountain landscapes, where spectacular mountain bike lines left viewers in awe.

Following this successful kickoff, the Bike Film Tour Season 2 will travel to nearly fifty events across eight countries. The films have a total running time of approximately 120 minutes.
