Mathias Eisert steps down as CEO of Polish Agro
After more than 12 years as CEO of Polish Agro, Mathias Eisert has decided to step down from his role, effective at the end of September 2025. During his leadership Polish Agro has grown from a start-up into a significant player in the Polish agribusiness market, now employing 85 people and generating annual revenues exceeding 200 million Euros.
Mathias Eisert joined the company at the end of 2013, when Polish Agro was only a vision on paper. Under his leadership, that vision has been transformed into a thriving business.
"With extraordinary energy and a constant flow of ideas, Mathias Eisert, has strongly contributed to the successful development of Polish Agro. Mathias Eisert has been the first and only CEO of Polish Agro and we owe him our sincere thanks for his effort and we wish him the best of luck for the future. He leaves behind a strong company with an experienced management team and organization, and we look forward to building on this in the years to come," says Henning Haahr, Group CEO of Danish Agro, which is the majority owner of Polish Agro.
Mathias Eisert has chosen to step back without another role awaiting him, taking time to reflect before deciding on his next chapter. Reflecting on his decision to step down, he says:
“It has been a great privilege to be CEO of Polish Agro for the past 12 years. I have given everything I had, and I am proud of what we have achieved together and where the company stands today. I will miss my colleagues who work every day to cultivate value for farmers.”
The process of appointing a permanent CEO is now underway. In the interim, Polish Agro’s leadership will be shared by Jacek Chmara, current CFO, and Marcin Ussorowski, current COO. Both have been key members of the management team for most of the company’s history and possesses deep knowledge of the business.
“It has been a privilege to work alongside Mathias Eisert for the past 11 years. His vision and drive have been pivotal in shaping Polish Agro into the modern, dynamic company it is today. With a strong team of dedicated specialists, we are well positioned for continued success,” says Jacek Chmara.
He is backed up by Marcin Ussorowski.
“I look forward to develop Polish Agro, where we continue to have big ambitions for the future. Under Mathias' visionary leadership, we have come a long way, and we have everything we need to build on this success.”
