The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad issued on 18 March 2022 a statement where it highly appreciates Spain's positive positions and constructive commitments on the issue of the Moroccan Sahara, contained in the message addressed to His Majesty King Mohammed VI by the President of the Spanish Government, H.E. Mr. Pedro Sánchez.
In a message addressed to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the President of the Government of Spain, H.E.M. Pedro Sánchez, stressed that he "recognizes the importance of the Sahara issue for Morocco". As such, "Spain considers the autonomy initiative presented by Morocco in 2007, as the basis, the most serious, realistic and credible, for resolving the dispute”.
German President says his country considers the autonomy initiative as a good basis for the settlement of the Sahara issue and hails Morocco’s King Mohammed VI for his active engagement of the in the peace process in Libya.
