XXL Truck explores the traces of Friedrich GROHE in Iceland

Reykjavik, 16th of July 2018. About 40 years ago, Friedrich Grohe supported five hospitals in Iceland with a generous donation. Years before that, the world's leading supplier of sanitary fittings made a name for itself with its products on the volcanic island. Then as now, GROHE is synonymous for highest quality, service and innovation and has firmly established itself in Europe's northernmost nation. With a donation of its latest products, GROHE shows how innovative sanitary products can support hospital hygiene and comfort for patients and staff alike. As part of its XXL Truck Tour, GROHE will build on the “Iceland” heritage story and stop at various BYKO stores in Iceland from July 13 to 18, 2018.

On 17 July 2018, GROHE will visit the Reykjavik National Hospital. The visit marks the official hand-over of the products being donated to the hospital. Jonas Brennwald (Chief Sales Officer), Torben Kjaergaard (Country Manager Iceland) and Ómar Kristjánsson will join on this special occasion to underline the value that GROHE attaches to its commitment. Ómar Kristjánsson, besides his role as GROHEs agent, also happens to be a contemporary witness from the 1970s. Already back then he was involved in the visit of Friedrich Grohe, the introduction of Grohe to Iceland and the donations to the hospitals.

A total of ten Eurosmart infrared fittings, two innovative Sensia Arena shower toilets, two GROHE RED and GROHE Blue Professional fittings each for a refreshing drinking water experience and two Essence Foot Control electronic single-lever sink mixers are part of the donation.

Before and after its stop at the Reykjavik National Hospital the XXL Truck offers the opportunity for everyone interested to find out about the latest trends and technologies in water management and enjoyment and GROHE product innovations at various locations across Iceland. The GROHE truck team will present the comprehensive product portfolio, advise in personal conversations about specific features and provide useful tips. The trucks are connected to water and electricity; thus, selected products and their features can be tested, for example the GROHE Blue Home water system. Thanks to the accompanying sample bar, the GROHE innovation can be experienced first-hand and it will put taste to the test. In addition, other selected products will be presented: from bathroom and kitchen fittings to the F-Deluxe shower or the Sensia Arena shower toilet. Apart from the products and the tasting experience, little ones will have their share of fun as well. A football lounge and the chance to win a GROHE football will await the children.

Distance Travelled so Far Corresponds to More Than Three Circumnavigations of the Globe

With a total of four mobile presentation rooms, GROHE has been out and about in Europe and the Middle East since March 2017. Up to now, the trucks have travelled about 150,000 kilometres in 33 countries. The distance tracked so far corresponds to more than three circumnavigations of the world. For 2018, approximately 800 informational events are planned.

The following dates have been announced for the Iceland Tour:

13 July 2018: BYKO Akureyri, 8 am – 4 pm

14 and 15 July 2018: BYKO Breidding Kópavog, 10 am – 15 pm

16 July 2018: BYKO Breidding Kópavog, 7 am – 4 pm

17 July 2018: BYKO Breidding Kópavog, 8 am 17 pm

18 July 2018: BYKO Selfoss, 8 am – 1 pm
