Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and Duran Duran to headline Heartland Festival 2026

Set against the historic backdrop of Egeskov Castle in Denmark, Heartland Festival returns on 18-20 June 2026, celebrating its 10-year anniversary with a strong international lineup headlined by Australian rock legends Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and British pop icons Duran Duran.

Since its launch in 2016, Heartland has grown into one of Scandinavia’s most distinctive festivals, blending a world-class music program with contemporary art, talks and food in a unique environment of the gardens at Egeskov Castle. The 2026 edition marks the festival’s 10-year anniversary with an ambitious programme featuring both Danish as well as international artists such as Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Duran Duran, 4 Non Blondes, Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit, LP, Manic Street Preachers, Sébastien Tellier and many more.

Festival director and head of music, Ulrik Ørum-Petersen, says:
“I am both proud and delighted with the music lineup we have put together for Heartland 2026. From major international headliners like Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and Duran Duran, and top Danish acts like The Minds of 99, to some of the most exciting emerging artists from home and abroad, we have assembled a program that has broad appeal and reflects our musical identity over the past 10 years. Furthermore, I am certain we will experience a unique highlight when we celebrate our anniversary with ‘Songs from the Heart’ on the opening day.”

Australian icons to headline
The Australian rock-band Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, will headline the opening night, marking their first concert at Heartland - Nick Cave also took part in the festival’s talks program a couple of years back. Widely regarded as one of the world’s most compelling live acts, the band arrives following their critically acclaimed album Wild God and a sold-out European tour. Their performance is set to span four decades of music, combining new material from Wild God with classics such as ”Where the Wild Roses Grow”, “Into My Arms”, “Red Right Hand” and ”As I Sat Sadly by Her Side”.

Duran Duran takes the stage on June 19th
On Friday, British pop pioneers Duran Duran take the stage as headliners. With a career spanning nearly five decades, more than 100 million records sold worldwide and induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the band remains one of the most influential forces in pop music. The audience can expect a hit-filled set including “Hungry Like the Wolf”, “Ordinary World” and “Rio”.

A wide-ranging international line-up
The international programme also features a diverse range of acclaimed artists across genres. Among them are American singer-songwriter LP, whose global hit “Lost On You” topped charts in 18 countries, and Welsh rock band Manic Street Preachers, known for their enduring influence and expansive catalogue. Indie favourites Snail Mail, French multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Sébastien Tellier and rising names such as Max McNown and DON WEST further underline Heartland’s commitment to showcasing both established and emerging international artists.

In addition, the festival will host a rare Danish appearance by 4 Non Blondes, marking their return to the country after more than three decades, alongside Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, bringing their acclaimed Americana sound to the programme.

More than music
Beyond music, Heartland continues to distinguish itself with a varied programme spanning talks, contemporary art and various food sessions and restaurant experiences. The 2026 edition will feature internationally recognised voices such as acclaimed filmmaker and author Miranda July, alongside a curated selection of inspiring conversations and spectacular performances designed to bring together global perspectives in an intimate setting.
