HUAWEI WATCH D3 launches with medical-grade blood pressure monitoring for even better health management
Huawei is launching HUAWEI WATCH D3, further strengthening its position in wearable technology for blood pressure monitoring. The watch combines a thinner, more comfortable design with medical-grade blood pressure monitoring, allowing users to track their blood pressure throughout different parts of daily life – around the clock, at rest, and before and after exercise. Smart measurement reminders and more detailed health insights also make it easier to monitor blood pressure and understand how it changes over time.[1]The watch also offers a comprehensive range of general health monitoring features, including Health Glance and access to several health studies, helping users gain a better understanding of their health and take a more proactive and preventive approach to their wellbeing.[2]
Lightweight design for all-day comfort
Inspired by the colors and materials found in nature, HUAWEI WATCH D3 is available in three stylish finishes: Black, White and Gold. This allows the watch to serve both as a health monitoring tool and as a stylish everyday accessory.
The watch also represents a significant step forward in ergonomic design. Measuring just 11.3 mm in thickness and weighing only 40 g, it is noticeably thinner and more streamlined than its predecessor. Whether walking, working or going about daily routines, the design reduces pressure on the wrist. Combined with the 25.5 mm ultra-narrow airbag strap, pressure is reduced even further, helping the watch remain light and comfortable – even when worn overnight.
Medical-grade blood pressure monitoring for easier long-term tracking
HUAWEI WATCH D3 uses an innovative mechanical airbag that provides effective compression and precise readings across a small contact area on the skin. Combined with a high-precision sensor and an adaptive measurement algorithm, the watch is designed to provide accurate measurement results.
According to the European Society of Hypertension’s (ESH) guidelines for ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, blood pressure should be measured at intervals of 15–30 minutes during a 24-hour monitoring period. At least 70 per cent of measurements should be successful, including 20 daytime measurements and seven measurements at night. HUAWEI WATCH D3 supports 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM), allowing users to track fluctuations in their blood pressure throughout the day and night, including while they sleep. During the day, measurement intervals can be adjusted and manual measurements can be taken when needed. At night, the air cushion inflates automatically with quieter operation to minimise sleep disruption. Regular ABPM can provide a more comprehensive view of how blood pressure changes over time and offer a better basis for discussions with healthcare professionals.[3]
Regular physical activity is known to play a positive role in preventing and managing high blood pressure. At the same time, exercise places physiological stress on the body and may carry potential risks for some individuals, as blood pressure responses during and after physical activity can vary significantly. HUAWEI WATCH D3 therefore introduces a dedicated feature for measuring blood pressure before and after exercise. The feature is designed to help users see whether their blood pressure is within an appropriate range before exercising, while also allowing them to monitor changes after completing a workout.
HUAWEI WATCH D3 also continues to support ABPM and blood pressure measurements at rest. The watch’s blood pressure monitoring feature is CE-marked in accordance with the EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR), making it a medical device for measuring blood pressure in a range of different situations.[4]
A health companion on your wrist – around the clock
In addition to blood pressure monitoring, HUAWEI WATCH D3 offers a comprehensive range of health features. With Health Glance, users can receive a detailed report covering up to 11 key health indicators[5] in approximately 60 seconds, including heart rate, blood pressure and SpO₂. This provides a convenient overview of important health data in one place.
Health Insights has also been enhanced through the integration of blood pressure data. This allows users to view long-term trends alongside information about their sleep and activity, helping to support greater awareness and healthier everyday habits.
The watch also supports Health Community, where users can view family members’ Health Glance results, blood pressure, heart rate, SpO₂ and other health data in one place. If unusual readings are detected, real-time alerts can be sent, allowing users to be quickly notified of any changes.
Huawei MultiPass benefits
All HUAWEI WATCH D3 devices include access to Huawei MultiPass, including a Huawei Health+ membership[6]and up to 90 days of complimentary premium membership across a carefully selected range of fitness and health apps, including komoot, Headspace, Naviki, FIIT and Kotcha.[7]
Together, these apps provide a complete digital ecosystem covering everything from interactive home workouts and training plans to outdoor navigation, GPS tools for cycling and running analysis.
