Kunsthal Charlottenborg reopens this autumn with two significant exhibitions and a major opening party

Friday 27 September, Kunsthal Charlottenborg invites to a new season with a grand opening party and two very different exhibitions. This year's major themed exhibition on artificial intelligence and the first exhibition in Scandinavia with the New Zealand sculptor Francis Upritchard. Together, the exhibitions will transform the galleries with dark interactive video installations, colourful figures and mythical creatures on both a small and large scale.

Invitation to press preview: Thursday 26 September, 11.00
Kunsthal Charlottenborg invites to a press preview, where the curators of the exhibitions, Nadim Samman and Henriette Bretton-Meyer, will welcome you and the artists will give an introduction. For registration and inquiries about interviews, contact: jmh@kunsthalcharlottenborg.dk

When Kunsthal Charlottenborg reopens at the end of the month, visitors can look forward to experience Francis Upritchard unfold a world of mermaids, mythical creatures and eccentric figures in the exhibition Any Noise Annoys an Oyster. Opening at the same time, the comprehensive group exhibition Poetics of Encryption explores the dark side of tech.

At the opening of the exhibitions, the admission is free, Santino will be playing in the foyer, and Apollo Bar will serve free bubbles to the first 100 guests. Throughout the evening, you can purchase beer, wine, drinks, and the dish of the day at Apollo Kantine.

Just before the opening of the exhibition Poetics of Encryption, curator Nadim Samman and participating artists will give an introduction to the exhibition, the works and the creation process behind them. The talk takes place in Kunsthal Charlottenborg's cinema. It is free to participate and places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis (doors open at 15.30).

After the opening, the party moves on to the legendary Culture Box’s Black Box, Kronprinsessegade 54, 1306 Copenhagen K. Here, there will be free admission for the first hour from 21.00, and until midnight, you can experience a series of musical and visual performances with Eliott Litrowski, Rhyw & Moritz Stumm LIVE A/V, and Alva Noto (DJ set) playing at the After party: Poetics of Encryption x Culture Box.
