ARCADE FIRE CONFIRMED FOR NORTHSIDE
DANISH FESTIVAL NORTHSIDE HAS ADDED ARCADE FIRE AS ITS FIRST ACT ON THE BILL ALONGSIDE ANE BRUN, MEW, AND QUADRON
One of the most requested acts for NorthSide 2014 is Arcade Fire, who have just released the phenomenal album, “Reflektor”. The band has through four releases positioned themselves as one of the most fascinating acts in the last decade and it is with great pride and joy that we can now present them as part of the line-up for NorthSide 2014.
Arcade Fire released their debut album, “Funeral”, in 2004, which was immediately hailed as a masterpiece, and they’ve maintained the same high standard on the following three albums, which have won several awards including a Grammy and a Brit Award for “The Suburbs” alongside several Danish GAFFA Awards. Last week saw the release of “Reflektor”, which Rolling Stone named “the best album Arcade Fire have ever made" and we could not agree more.
Norwegian songwriter Ane Brun will also be on the bill at NorthSide this summer, and like Arcade Fire her work is synonymous with great reviews. Her latest Danish show received six stars from Danish magazine GAFFA, which also raved about her latest release, “It All Starts with One”. So there’s good reason to look forward to this summer’s performance from this unique singer.
Quadron is Danish music of international quality, which has lead to collaborations with Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, and Tyler, the Creator as well as performances on Jimmy Fallon and David Letterman. Here at home, the duo is currently nominated for no less than seven Danish Music Awards for the album “Avalanche”, so we’re very proud to be able to present the duo’s only Danish festival show in 2014 at NorthSide.
The uncompromising and innovative trio Mew have through five albums built a unique universe, which reached its preliminary peak in 2009 with the album “No More Stories…”, which was awarded six stars by Danish magazine Soundvenue. So obviously the expectations for the long awaited follow-up are huge, and that just makes it all the more exciting for NorthSide to be able to present the band’s only Danish festival show next year.
