Sam Smith and Alt-J to play NorthSide

NorthSide can also announce the sensational FKA Twigs and the great talent George Ezra and more

The second round of acts for NorthSide 2015 features four of the most talked about and praised the new English acts and a little electro swing and modern soul from seven amazing acts, where six of them still have their first Danish festival appearance waiting for them.

Sam Smith appeared on the Disclosure-track "Latch" in 2012, and since then the British singer with the amazing voice has had a meteoric career that includes Brit Awards, three top spots on the UK singles chart, platinum records throughout Europe as well as a debut album, which went straight number one on the UK album chart. Despite the massive success at home Sam Smith has never played in Denmark, but fortunately that is about to change as the million-selling singer will give his first Danish concert at NorthSide 2015.

Alt-J have since their stunning Danish debut concert at NorthSide in 2013 built a large fan base here, and they had no problems fulfilled the high expectations for the band's second album, when "This Is All Yours" hit stores in September. No wonder they were among the most requested acts for NorthSide again this year.

FKA Twigs is one of this decade's most talked about new acts and had already been on several magazine covers before the Mercury Prize-nominated debut album, "LP1", hit the stores. Her first two EP releases took music journalists and fans by storm over the world, and "LP1" is the culmination in a meteoric career that has led to comparisons with everyone from Billie Holiday and Sade to Tricky and Björk for her unique and edgy take on a contemporary urban sound.

George Ezra has hit big with the single "Budapest", where the talented songwriter draws inspiration from folk icons like Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie. It's big shoes to fill, but it's being done successfully on the excellent debut album "Wanted on Voyage", which went to number one in the home country of England, and with the latest single, "Blame It On Me", which is a big hit on P3 right now.

The Parov Stelar Band has for more than ten years been the leading name on the electro swing scene, and especially Youtube songs like "Catgroove" and "All Night" have become sensations, because the band's energetic and updated electronic version of the classic swing music is the perfect dance music.

Jack Garratt mixes incredible vocals with electronic beats and guitar virtuosity with great skill to the point where he has already played in several major British festivals although he has only released a few singles.

St. Paul & the Broken Bones is a seven-piece band from Birmingham, Alabama with a new and very interesting take on authentic soul music brought in directly from deep in the American South.

The following acts are now ready for Northside 2015: Alt-J, FKA Twigs, George Ezra, Interpol, Jack Garratt, John Grant, José González, MØ, Sam Smith, St. Paul & the Broken Bones, The Black Keys and The Parov Stelar band.

NorthSide 2015 can be experienced in Aarhus, Denmark on the 12th - 14th of June, and tickets can be purchased via Billetlugen.dk.
