Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister on official visit in Denmark

Saudi Arabia’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Member of Cabinet, HE Mr. Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir paid an official visit to Denmark on Tuesday-Wednesday 10-11 November 2020.

The official visit was originally scheduled to take place in March earlier this year, but was postponed due to precautions against the Covid-19 pandemic.

Mr. Al-Juber began his visit by a meeting with the Danish Parliament, where he was welcomed by the Chairman of the Foreign Policy Committee, former Foreign Minister Martin Lidegaard. The discussion with the Foreign Affairs Committee focused on the most important international developments and strengthening the cooperation between the two friendly countries.

From the Parliament, The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs went on to have a working lunch with the Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Mr. Jeppe Kofod and the Foreign Ministry’s Senior Officials. From the Saudi side the working lunch was attended by the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Denmark, HE Mr. Fahad Alruwaily and Mr. Badr Almuaiqel, Counsellor in the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In addition to the bilateral relations, the two ministers discussed ways to enhance mutual cooperation and a number of regional and international topics of common interest to the two countries.

In the afternoon, the Minister of State had a roundtable discussion with the experts at the Danish Institute for International Studies (DIIS). The discussion was moderated by the DIIS’s Director Mr. Kristian Fischer.

Concluding his visit Mr. Al-Jubeir gave an exclusive interview to Denmark’s Public Radio and TV-station. The interview will be aired on the channel DR2 tonight, Thursday 12 November, at 10.30 pm in the television news/interview program Deadline.

At the end of his visit, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Member of Cabinet, H.E. Mr. Mr. Adel Al-Jubeir, commented on his official visit to Denmark on Twitter:
