Panalpina expands network in Colombia and Ecuador to become largest perishables player in Latin America

Panalpina continues to expand its Perishables Network in South America through the acquisition of CargoMaster S.A. in Colombia, and its subsidiary, Laseair S.A., in Ecuador. CargoMaster is one of Latin America’s largest companies specialized in the air freight export of perishables, mostly of flowers to the US.
Panalpina donates sixth UNICEF relief flight to Africa

Same as last year, Panalpina assisted UNICEF by flying relief aid to Africa to help children in South Sudan, where the humanitarian needs after years of conflict remain massive. A Panalpina chartered cargo aircraft landed last night in neighboring Uganda, carrying nearly 70 tons of supplies. The supplies will be trucked to South Sudan and distributed across the country as the dry season begins.

Panalpina’s new Healthcare Logistics Center in Weiterstadt near Frankfurt/Main has obtained Good Distribution Practice (GDP) certification and is ready to assist healthcare customers with the handling, transport and storage of their temperature-sensitive medicinal products. Frankfurt is Panalpina’s third logistics facility in Germany’s Rhein-Main region, alongside Moerfelden and Neu-Isenburg.
Panalpina’s African Star shines yet again

A scheduled shutdown of a deep-water oil platform is no small undertaking. For one Panalpina customer, their entire maintenance plan would have been derailed if not for Panalpina’s innovative African Star solution for transporting large shipments from the U.S. to Angola expeditiously. Four heat exchangers with a total weight of 47,210 kg were shipped from the U.S. to Luanda in a few days only.

Panalpina was recently called in for help by one of its largest oil and gas customers in Angola to avoid a shutdown at one of their main offshore platforms. A critical cargo of specialized pipes, bundles and racks had had to be moved from Malabo in Equatorial Guinea to Cabinda, Angola in a port-to-port operation, and Panalpina deployed its African Star to save the day.
