DNV GL and ExproSoft to present at Subsea Valley Conference in April

ExproSoft have been selected to present on how operators can reduce downtime through a risk-based approach to barrier testing, along with our partner DNV GL.

The two companies have developed a methodology for risk-based approach towards barrier valve testing, in order to reduce well downtime and intervention cost, and the risk related to shut-in and restart of wells. There is a potential for significant improvements, while still operating within the guidelines set forth in NORSOK D-010 and ISO 10417.

The methodology established a well risk picture through assessing the operational experience for a particular field or group of wells, combined with well equipment failure rates. Data is collected and analyzed using WellMaster RMS, the global solution for well equipment reliability data. The outcome is a risk-based test criteria, allowing the operators to align the barrier test schedules with the actual risk of the wells.

The Subsea Valley Conference takes place in Oslo, Norway, at the Telenor Arena, on April 5-7.
