Therefore water is one of our main focus areas within our Creating Shared Value (CSV).. Nestlé's work with water is based on the UN Global Compact (UNGC) six points.
While Nestlé publishes the printed material of the annual report of 2011, also publishes the latest CSV report. This year focuses on water management and water resources, to ensure the world's future water availability. Nestlé Chairman Peter Brabeck-Letmathe warns water shortage will intensify competition for access to water. Mr Brabeck-Letmathe warned that the water shortfall over the next two decades will reduce global cereal production by a third and could trigger social unrest. The water shortage would intensify competition between countries for access to water, he said.
Crediting Nestlé’s leadership, performance, and efforts to improve the water management in its supply chain, the Stockholm Industry Water Award will be presented to Mr Brabeck-Letmathe at a ceremony on Wednesday, August 24.
