A new era begins: Martin Thaysen takes over as CEO, leading Green Energy to new horizons

Green Energy is thrilled to announce that Martin Thaysen will officially take over as CEO on 1 March 2024. This CEO change represents an important milestone for the company and marks a crucial step towards the vision of global leadership in green energy.

From Maersk to Green Energy

Martin Thaysen is an internationally experienced CEO, with solid experience and knowledge of the logistics and transportation sector. His impressive background and experience from the business world at home and abroad include Executive Vice President and Managing Director of China at CEVA Logistics and 18 years of experience at A.P. Moller-Maersk. He has also held key roles in several other companies, including Chief Commercial Officer at Controlant and Group CEO at The Santa Fe Group.

"This is an exciting chapter in Green Energy's history, and I am thrilled to take on the role of CEO," says Martin Thaysen. "Climate change is without doubt one the greatest challenges of our generation, and it is critically important that we take action now, leveraging technologies that exist and that are also economically favourable. What impressed me about Green Energy’s solar technology is that it has so many applications. It is a tried and tested product that can help drive decarbonisation for businesses now.”

Entering the next era

Big ambitions and constant growth paint the picture when looking at Green Energy. As CEO, Martin Thaysen will lead Green Energy forward and to the forefront of the global sustainable energy landscape. With his extensive background in leading multinational companies and proven ability to drive growth in various markets, Thaysen is well-placed to lead Green Energy to unprecedented heights of success and establish its position as a frontrunner in sustainable energy solutions worldwide.

"We have been looking forward to welcoming Martin Thaysen. Martin is a hands-on and strategic leader with a solid focus on customers and people. In his recent role, Martin led high revenue growth at another digital tech scale-up - which makes him an ideal leader for Green Energy as we aim for global industry leadership," says Hans Peter Michelet.

Martin Thaysen will take over as CEO from Hans Peter Michelet. Michelet has served as interim CEO since Karl Andreassen announced his resignation from the position at the end of 2023. Following Martin Thaysen's appointment as CEO, Michelet will resume his role as Chairman of the Board.
