On Friday 22nd of April, Havila Voyages took delivery of its second ship, Havila Castor, at the Tersan shipyard in Turkey. Havila Castor will start sailing the coastal route Bergen - Kirkenes on Tuesday 10th of May.

Due to the continued lack of approval from the authorities and thus uncertainty related to valid insurance on the ship, Havila Voyages must also cancel the next round trip with Havila Capella.
Havila Kystruten has been forced to cancel the round trip Bergen - Kirkenes - Bergen, which was planned to start on 12 April 2022, due to the still unresolved situation related to the ship's insurance coverage.
On Friday, April 8th, the EU extended sanctions against Russian companies. Havila Capella is funded by GTLK Asia, a Russian-owned leasing company in Hong Kong. GTLK Asia is among the sanctioned companies.
Havila Voyages assumes that the sanctions will prevent GTLK from carrying out the financing of the three remaining vessels being built at the Tersan shipyard in Turkey.
