Ford Announces Establishment of Ford Business Solutions Europe in Budapest, and the appointment of Dieter Rogmann as Director of FBS Europe

BUDAPEST, 31st March 2021 – Ford Motor Company announces today the establishment of Ford Business Solutions Europe in Budapest, becoming part of the global network of business solution centres serving the wider Ford Business.

At the same time, effective April 1st, 2021 Dieter Rogmann is appointed Director of Ford Business Solutions Europe in Budapest.

Dieter Rogmann joined Ford Motor Company in 1994, he has 27 years of experience in various Engineering, Marketing and Sales management positions. In his previous role Rogmann was Director of Customer Experience for Ford of Europe, a position he held since October 2018. In this role, he was responsible for creating world-class customer experience throughout the entire ownership cycle with functional responsibility for the transformation of offline and online interactions between Ford, Dealers and Customers.

In his current position he will be based in Budapest and will oversee all FBS activities across the European region.

In this newly established role, Rogmann will be responsible for leading the future business solutions strategy for Ford in Europe, with an aspiration of winning through value creation, digital transformation, and smart end-to-end (E2E) process design. Globally, the Ford Business Solutions organization envisions to drive new business solutions strategies, which includes: setting-up up a network of service centres across multiple locations; bringing greater connectivity across the operations; building capabilities around process automation, advanced analytics and digital workflows and; changing the way the company works through streamlined end to end processes.

“I am very pleased to be joining and leading our European FBS team. Together we will continue to develop the scope of Ford Business Solutions. At the same time, we’re committed to accelerate all the processes that would allow us to progress towards world class Business Services and Solutions. To do this we need to look at FBS as an overall ecosystem, optimizing work across the entire organization and supporting the transition of new work in as we build scale and efficiency. This will foster a better integrated system for sharing best practices, standardizing processes and evolving the centre’s capabilities, with less reliance on a single location. Ford will use FBS’s process re-engineering capability to partner with skill teams and help redesign processes to support new and emerging parts of its business,” said Dieter Rogmann.

Several existing Financial, Planning, Sales, Marketing and Human Resources functions serving both Ford’s European business and some global activities have been transferred into the FBS Organization.

Ford’s business operations in Hungary were gradually extended over the last 10 years, with the major milestone of opening the Business Service Centre in the Váci Greens office building in Budapest by Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó in 2018. This included the establishment of a Regional HR Service Centre in Budapest, part of a new Global HR service delivery model across the entire Ford business, including similar centres in India and Mexico.

Ford is one of the largest US based automotive employer in the country, operating out of 2 office buildings in Hungary – Budapest and Szentendre – already accommodating 624 highly qualified professionals working across a wide range of areas.

The company also supports a continuously expanding supplier network in Hungary, currently consisting of 40 companies and 69,000 employees, manufacturing and supplying parts for Ford production facilities.

Ford has been the market leader in vehicle sales in Hungary since 2010, with a strong market share in passenger vehicle segment (9,1%) and commercial vehicle segment (32%).

Earlier this year, Ford announced it is investing at least $22 billion globally in electrification, nearly twice the company’s previous electric vehicle investment plans, and that it is investing $1 billion to create the Ford Cologne Electrification Centre in Germany for the manufacture of electric vehicles - the company’s first such facility in Europe. Ford’s first European-built, volume all-electric passenger vehicle will be built at the facility in 2023, with the potential for a second all-electric vehicle under consideration.

By mid-2026, 100 percent of Ford’s passenger vehicle range in Europe will be zero-emissions capable, all-electric or plug-in hybrid, moving to all-electric by 2030.
