Press release —
Animal Equality marks four weeks of protests at Dell in Ireland, urging it to cut ties with Kroger board member
Activists appeared today at an investment forum at Dell's Limerick offices, after four weeks of action in Ireland over Kroger's broken cage-free egg promise.
LIMERICK and DUBLIN, Ireland, 4 November 2026 — Animal Equality entered its fourth week of daily public actions targeting Dell Technologies in Ireland. Today, activists gathered outside Dell's Customer Solution Center in Limerick as the company hosted an investment forum for business leaders.
The campaign has one demand: that Dell cut ties with Kevin Brown, a senior Dell executive who also sits on the board of US supermarket giant Kroger. Kroger broke its promise to stop selling eggs from caged hens.
The link between Dell and Kroger
Kevin Brown is Executive Vice President of Global Operations and Chief Supply Chain Officer at Dell Technologies, a role he has held since 2013. He has also served on Kroger's board of directors since 2021, including on its Public Responsibilities Committee.
In 2016, Kroger pledged to sell only cage-free eggs by 2025. In 2022, it abandoned that goal, saying it expects about 70% of eggs sold to be cage-free by 2030, with no public timeline for reaching 100%. Animal welfare experts estimate that each caged hen has, on average, no more space than a sheet of paper.
Four weeks of action in Dublin and Limerick
Since early October, Animal Equality activists have held daily public actions outside Dell's offices in Dublin and Limerick. They have spoken with Dell employees and members of the public about the campaign.
Today's action in Limerick took the message to the business community. As leaders arrived at Dell's Customer Solution Center for an investment forum, activists shared information about Dell's connection to Kroger and asked them to take a stand. The campaign is directed solely at Dell; it does not concern the forum's organisers or attendees.
To date, Dell has not responded to the campaign.
"Dell opened its doors today to talk about investment and growth in Ireland. But when it comes to animal suffering, its door has stayed shut," said Ombretta Alessandrini, Campaigns Manager at Animal Equality. "For four weeks we have protested, emailed the company and spoken with Dell’s own staff. Dell cannot claim it doesn't know. As long as one of its top executives sits on Kroger's board while millions of hens remain in cages, we will keep showing up."
What comes next
Animal Equality will continue its actions at Dell in Ireland until the company cuts ties with Kevin Brown. The campaign forms part of an international effort calling on Kroger to restore its commitment to go 100% cage-free.
