Competition for grant to Arctic Frontiers Student Forum 2018 is open

Russian Geographical Society and the host of the conference Arctic Frontiers, Akvaplan-niva, has announced a competition among bachelor and master students at Russian universities to take part in the Arctic Frontiers Student Forum 2018. This third Student Forum is one of several Arctic Frontiers Young program activities. The 2018 Arctic Frontiers Student Forum will be a combination of a 3-days intensive interdisciplinary course "Global Arctic" prior to the official opening of the Arctic Frontiers conference, workshops, group work, participation in the policy, business and science sessions of the Arctic Frontiers as well as in social and cultural events during the conference. The forum will host 30 international students with an interest in the Arctic. 10 Russian students, winners of the special competition, will receive a grant from the Norwegian Barents Secretariat to cover their travel and participation in the forum.

Arctic Frontiers is an international arena addressing sustainable development in the Arctic. The conference which is arranged in Tromsø Norway every January, has since the very beginning in 2007 paid a special attention to involvement of the young generation through initiatives like Young Scientist Forum for early carrier scientists, Emerging Leaders for young representatives from academia, business and public sectors and from the 2016 conference onwards, the Arctic Frontiers Student Forum
