Canon launches its first full frame cine-zoom lenses for professional cinema productions and a new BCTV broadcast zoom lens, along with firmware updates for professional reference monitor and PTZ cameras
Canon Europe launches its first premium full frame zoom lenses for professional cinema productions – the Flex Zoom series. The CN-E20-50MM T2.4 L F / FP and CN-E45-135MM T2.4 L F / FP offer outstanding performance and impressive quality for HDR, 4K and 8K productions. With the introduction of these lenses, Canon enhances its line-up to meet a range of filmmaking needs – providing filmmakers with even more options to choose from, supporting high-end content creation for a variety of uses and shooting scenarios. Both lenses offer constant and fast T2.4 light transmission across the entire zoom range, as well as covering focal lengths most popularly used by filmmakers across a variety of productions.

Canon Europe announces also the launch of its latest broadcast zoom lens, the UHD DIGISUPER 122AF (UJ122x8.2B AF), which features premium 4K image quality with a 122x Zoom Ratio allowing the lens to reach an incredible 8.2 -1000mm (16.4-2000mm with in-built 2x extender) focal length range.
What sets the UHD DIGISUPER 122AF apart is the addition of a fast and accurate phase detection auto focus system to support with the capture of fast-moving subjects at 4K resolution, which can be deployed by the operator using the new FDJ-S31/41 focus controller. Canon will also be releasing new firmware for the DP-V1830 professional reference display, which will support broadcasters in achieving the best 4K HDR picture quality possible.

In addition Canon Europe announces a firmware update for the DP-V1830 professional reference monitor, which will be available from July 2022. The DP-V1830 is a 4K HDR display that features award-winning monitoring tools and uncompromising 12G-SDI connectivity, making it ideal for live broadcast studios, production trucks and on-set HDR monitoring. With the introduction of this new firmware, users will experience the full potential of this display, thanks to the addition of further advanced functionality that strongly supports 4K HDR broadcast productions.

Also, Canon Europe announces a new downloadable driver for its PTZ cameras, making video conferencing and streaming via the CR-N300, CR-N500 and CR-X300 – three of Canon’s PTZ cameras with incredible 4K image quality and versatile IP compatibility – seamless for higher education, House of Worship and workplace environments. The pandemic has been a catalyst for video conferencing and streaming requirements, with more institutions demanding access to high-quality video streaming solutions that are easy to implement than ever before.
