PGA CATALUNYA RESORT third best continental European golf resort
Golf World has recognised PGA Catalunya Resort’s all-round appeal in naming it as the third best golf resort in Continental Europe and no.1 in Spain in its latest Top 100 rankings.
The influential list said the Girona resort has “world-class golf facilities including some of the best practice facilities in Europe” and described its Hotel Camiral as “having few peers anywhere in Europe – golf resort or otherwise – offering opulence and comfort on a rare level”.
PGA Catalunya Resort is a leading golf and wellness destination. Opened in 1999, it quickly established an international reputation for outstanding quality. It has two award-winning courses – the Stadium and the Tour – and two accommodation options – the 5* Hotel Camiral and LAVIDA Hotel, aimed at the active traveller. In addition, the European Tour Destination comprises a discreet, low-density real estate development, with first-class leisure facilities and a select number of villa plots, stylish modern semi-detached villas, and luxury apartments.
Conveniently situated close to Girona-Costa Brava Airport (five-minute drive) and Barcelona International Airport (one-hour drive), the venue also benefits from the recently completed high-speed train line that links Girona (approximately 15 kilometres from PGA Catalunya Resort) to the rest of Spain and Europe, which provides even faster connections to major cities, including Barcelona, which can now be reached in only 37 minutes.
