The Girona Counties G! Tourism Communication Awards

The Girona Counties G! Tourism Communication Awards, created by the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board, are celebrated annually with the aim of recognising and rewarding outstanding content produced by journalists, influencers and content creators all over the world that best contributes towards informing, promoting and inspiring travellers and visitors to come and discover the Costa Brava and Girona Pyrenees destinations.

  • 1. Participants

    The competition is open to any person or organisation that presents original published work created in any communication format (newspapers, magazines, books and travel guides, printed or digital, in e-books, blogs, podcasts, social networks audiovisual productions and programmes, etc.) which fosters and disseminates the values, wealth, diversity and quality of the Girona Counties’ tourist resources and products and helps to publicise the brands ‘Costa Brava’ and/or ‘Girona Pyrenees’.

    The awards are divided into four categories:

    • Climent Guitart G! Award for the ‘Most Inspirational Showcasing of the Costa Brava and/or Girona Pyrenees’ Values and Tourist Attractions’.
    • Josep Capellà G! Award for the ‘Best Sustainable Tourism Activity and/or Experience on the Costa Brava and/or in the Girona Pyrenees’.
    • G! Award for the ‘Most Original and Innovative Content about the Costa Brava and/or Girona Pyrenees’ Range of Tourist Options’.
    • G! Award for the ‘Best Tourist Experience on the Costa Brava and/or in the Girona Pyrenees’.
  • 2. Specific conditions

    The competition is open to the creators of all original work published, broadcast or distributed between 1 September 2025 and 31 October 2026, in any format, language and country.

  • 3. Entry period and documentation

    The deadline for the submission of proposals ends on 2 November 2026. Applications must be formalised using the registration form provided by the organisation, duly completed, and must be accompanied by the original work.
    Works may be submitted in the following formats: PDF, JPEG, TIFF, MP3, MP4, AVI or WMV, by sending them to the email address premsa@costabrava.org, or by indicating the web link where the submitted work is hosted.
    Alternatively, candidates may submit their works in person at the headquarters of the Patronat de Turisme Costa Brava Girona —Av. de Sant Francesc, 29, 3rd floor, 17001 Girona (Catalonia), Spain.
    No limit is established on the number of works that each participant may submit. Participation in the awards implies full acceptance of these terms and conditions, as well as the verdict of the jury. Likewise, participants authorise the organisation to publicly disseminate, through its communication channels, the recognised and award-winning works.

  • 4. Evaluation criteria

    The jury will evaluate the works presented in accordance with criteria of writing/production style, the quality of the photographic and audiovisual images, tone, originality, creativity, informative value and veracity. It will also take into account the functionality of the work for the user.
    However, the jury reserves the right to declare any of the prizes void if it considers that the submitted applications do not meet the required quality standards.

  • 5. Members of the jury

    The jury will be made up of a representative of the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board’s management team, or a person delegated by them, who will act as chairperson; members appointed by the Board chosen from among recognised and experienced professionals in different areas of communication; and the Board’s head of media, who will not vote, but will manage the contest.

  • 6. Verdict

    The jury will meet to vote and issue its verdict on the Girona Counties G! Tourism Communication Awards. The jury’s verdict is final and will be publicly announced during the Girona Counties G! Tourism Communication Awards ceremony, organised annually by the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board. Depending on the nature of the work and in accordance with the philosophy of the awards, the Tourist Board may apply all necessary initiatives to disseminate it to the public.

  • 7. Award Endowment and Payment

    The winning works in each of the categories will receive a prize of 3,000 euros. The corresponding prize is awarded on an individual basis and cannot be distributed among more than one participant.
    The prizes are subject to the fiscal regulations in force in the Spanish State. The application of withholdings will be carried out according to the legal status of the award winner.
    In any case, it will be the exclusive responsibility of the award winners to inform the Tourist Board of their fiscal status and to provide the necessary and relevant documentation, in order to comply with the tax obligations derived from receiving the prize.
    For the entity to proceed with the payment of the prize, it will be necessary to provide the following documentation:
    • Identification: copy of the identity document (ID number/passport) or tax identification card (VAT number) in the case of legal entities.
    • Non-residents: certificate of bank account ownership stating the account number (IBAN and SWIFT/BIC code) and the name of the award-winning natural or legal person.

  • 8. 21st edition of the Girona Counties G! Tourism Communication Awards

    The winners of the Girona Counties G! Tourism Communication Awards, as well as those chosen for the 2026 G! Tourism Awards in honorary categories and the Yvette Barbaza Research Award, will receive their honours in a public ceremony. The Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board, organiser of the G! Awards, reserves the right to postpone or cancel this edition for reasons of force majeure.
