Press release -

Fish farming is a part of the solution to reach the UN Sustainable Development Goals

- Seeing how we in Cermaq can contribute to meeting the UN Sustainability Goals is very encouraging, says Wenche Grønbrekk, Global head of Sustainability and Risk in Cermaq.

Producing healthy food in a sustainable way is the combination needed to meet the Sustainable Development Goals for 2030 adopted by the United Nations in September last year. Cermaq produces healthy, high quality protein by growing salmon in Norway, Chile and Canada, and has the ambition of growing its production while reducing its environmental footprint.

- We also go against the flow in a time of increasing urbanization, by contributing to economic activity and workplaces in many rural areas, underlines Wenche Grønbrekk.

In the report Future of Spaceship Earth by DNV GL Cermaq is selected as the company presenting how industry can work to meet SDG14 Life below water.
