Goodtech wins offshore wind contract at Hywind Tampen

Goodtech has won a contract with Wood for the delivery of a complete SCADA system for Equinor's floating offshore wind project at Hywind Tampen.

Goodtech will deliver a complete SCADA system to the offshore wind field, including the implementation of Equinor's advanced "Motion Control" system that ensures optimal production from the field through continuous adjustment of the wind turbines in relation to waves and wind. The project starts immediately and will last until the latter part of 2021. The project also includes management and monitoring with the expansion of a control room in Bergen.

Goodtech as a system integrator has a strong focus on renewable projects and has had projects for Hywind since 2009 in the test area outside Haugesund via Hywind Scotland in 2016, and now with Hywind Tampen in 2020.

Hywind Tampen is a floating wind power project with a capacity of 88 MW, which according to the plan will supply the field operations on Snorre and Gullfaks in the North Sea with electric power. This will be the first floating wind farm in the world to supply electricity to offshore oil and gas platforms.
