Nammo is delighted to announce that it has agreed with Moog Inc. to acquire its In-Space Propulsion businesses in UK and Ireland.
Nammo yesterday conducted a final, successful ground test of the Nucleus rocket flight propulsion system, at the Nammo Raufoss Test Center. The groundbreaking hybrid rocket technology is now ready to power the first launch of a Norwegian-built space rocket in September 2018.
The BLOODHOUND Project is an international education initiative focussed around a car aimed at setting a 1,000mph (1,609km/h) World Land Speed Record. To achieve this speed, the car relies on rockets provided by Nammo, and today the car is doing its first non-rocket powered public runs at Newquay airport in Cornwall - and you can watch it all live here from 13:30 UK time!
Hybrid engines are not just for cars. Nammo is close to completing a rocket engine that will make green space propulsion a reality – and we are now hiring more rocket scientists to help us get there.
The British jet and rocket powered car Bloodhound SSC has just announced that its first public test run will take place in October 2017 - but unfortunately we still have some work to do to adapt our rockets for the car, nor is the track long enough to deal with the kind of speeds that would entail.
