TCS at ONS 2022: Accelerating the Energy Transition – The Race Towards Sustainability
TCS continues its investment in the energy sector and is present at the energy industry's most important meeting place – ONS 2022 in Stavanger, Norway.
ONS 2022 is one of the most important meeting places for the global energy sector. At the event, 29 August – 1 September, the industry's major players from across the world gather in Stavanger to discuss the future of the energy sector. Last time ONS was arranged, the exhibition had over 68 000 visitors from over 100 countries, and more than 200 conference sessions with a total of more than 700 speakers.
TCS is a partner of ONS 2022 and is joining as an exhibitor as well as with several presentations in the technical sessions. With the overall theme "Accelerating the Energy Transition – The Race Towards Sustainability", TCS will use this opportunity to demonstrate the role and value of IT and technology in the future energy sector.
- Our collaboration with ONS is well established. We are thrilled to be able to take part in the network that ONS has made possible and be present in Stavanger, says Rajan Maheshwari, Country Head for TCS in Norway.
Among other companies present are Equinor, Shell, ABB and Hydro. In addition, Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy have spoken at this year's conference.
The role of technology in a more sustainable energy sector
Achieving a net-zero future is an important goal for most companies working in the energy sector, and is part of the agenda at this year's conference. TCS offers a range of services and products aimed at the energy sector, and will use this year's ONS conference to showcase a selection of these, both via its booth and through presentations in the technical sessions. Here, the greatest focus will be on how technology can be used to achieve a more sustainable future. 'Sustainable by design', digitization for increased efficiency and innovation in energy technology are among the services that TCS will present.
- The energy sector is constantly growing. But change is essential if the industry is to be able to deliver on new demands and climate-related necessities. Technology has an important role to play here. TCS has a vast amount of cutting-edge solutions related to innovation and restructuring the energy sector, and we hope to open the eyes of many to this opportunity during the conference, continues Rajan Maheshwari.
As part of TCS's program at ONS, a replica of Jaguar TCS Racing Team's Formula E car is on display. TCS have partnered with Jaguar Land Rover to improve the technology in the electric racing car. This car is a strong symbol of a future where renewable energy and 'e-mobility' are increasingly used. In addition, it will be possible for visitors to TCS's exhibition to test what it is like to drive this car in a simulator.
