THiLT Engineering and CCL Norway contributes to environmental initiative in Trondheim.
CCL Norway has together with THiLT Engineering signed a contract for the design and delivery of post tensioned concrete slabs for Powerhouse Brattøra in Trondheim. The building will be the first energy positive commercial building in Norway.
Through close cooperation with Skanska Norway, Sweco Norway and Snøhetta architects. CCL Norway and THiLT Engineering contributes to the realization of this unique building project that will produce more environmentally friendly energy than it consumes.
Building area will be approximately 15000 m2 divided on 8 floors plus basement. With its complex shape and the focus on energy consumption, post tensioned concrete slabs was a preferred choice. Situ cast post-tensioned slabs has with its flexibility in shape, long spans, slender structures and short construction time helped to reduce costs and CO2 emissions. Project duration extends to February 2019 and CCL Norway will have a supervisor present on sight during the execution time.
