​Swedish WeCloud breaks the mould and acquires Danish company

WeCloud AB, which is now the only major wholly Nordic owned provider of email security in the Nordic region, today announced its acquisition of a majority stake in the Danish company Simitu A/S and its assets. Simitu A/S  has for the last four years developed a range of IT security solutions including Antispam & AntiVirus. These are now in the process of being integrated with WeClouds security platform. Simitu’s existing customer base consists primarily of ISPs such as TDC and other Danish service providers. The acquisition has been entirely financed by equity without any additional external investment.

Simitu, which develops market-leading "next generation" technology for e-mail security, will continue to deliver solutions to the Danish market and along with WeCloud also offer its partners a larger product portfolio. Our partnership with WeCloud provides a faster growth and access to new markets and new services, says Martin Elsborg, CEO of Simitu A / S.

With this new partnership the combined customer base is expected to grow rapidly and WeCloud will get access to new and improved technology that can be directly used by their existing customer base. This new technology ensures WeCloud can offer local and safe data storage in all Scandinavian countries. WeCloud also expects to increase its market share in Denmark, where several of WeClouds services will now be introduced via Simitu.

This new technology for email security involves a series of improvements for WeCloud's existing customers who can already today benefit from increased ease of use, new features and enhanced security.

WeCloud AB is a privately owned company, which without venture capital, loans or external investors has grown organically from its inception in 2010. The company is expected to report sales of approximately SEK 25 million in the current year.
