Bubble Wall with Mobile and Large Screen Cooperation features

The Bubble wall shows how to effectively deliver presentations and information exploration in public spaces by mobile and large screen cooperation. The novel features of the Kupla UI Mobile technology, developed by the Helsinki Institute for Information Technology (HIIT) with support from EIT ICT Labs, is displayed publically for the first time at MWC 2013.

The Bubble wall is targeted for participatory and interactive presentations. With the bubble navigation structure, presenters can adapt their story easily to their audience without having to follow a linear structure as in traditional presentations. Participants can join the presentation and seamlessly continue exploring the content.

Customised presentations can be activated via a mobile device and demonstrated in a well-directed and crystallized way. A presenter can use the multi-touch wall, mobile or tablet for their presentation - all content comes from same content management system.

"The Bubble wall is an example of EIT ICT Labs activities in bringing innovations to life, where research results have been turned in to business opportunities", says Petri Liuha, Lead of the Smart Spaces Action Line. “Large interactive screens open up an intuitive, user-friendly interface to explore services and information in public places."

On the almost four-meter long interactive screens, EIT ICT Labs presents bubbles with information, images, videos and graphics – arranged by themes. The bubble wall consists of six MultiTaction® Cell 55" modular multi-user touch displays. In the six Co-location Centres of EIT ICT Labs, screens from MultiTouch Ltd. are integrated in the office environment as a tool for efficient interactive corporate communications.

The Bubble wall can be explored at EIT ICT Labs stand in Hall 6, Stand 6A35.
