ELEPHANT PARADE DESIGNS CHOSEN FOR NEW ELEPHANT HILL RANGE OF FINE WINES

Exclusive designs from Elephant Parade’s world-famous art pieces are set to appear on a new range of bespoke wines from New Zealand winery, Elephant Hill.

Since its inception in 2007, Elephant Parade has been committed to raising awareness on the future of the elephant through its head-turning international public art exhibitions that have taken place all over the world. For its latest event, an Elephant Parade of more that 100 art pieces have arrived in Mumbai, fitting with India being home to the world’s largest population of Asian Elephants.

The Mumbai event is being run by Elephant Parade’s charity partner Elephant Family, and the new partnership will see Elephant Hill winery make a NZD $1 donation from each bottle of wine sold to support Elephant Family’s conservation projects.

Mike Spits, Founder of Elephant Parade commented: “Over the last decade our vibrant art pieces have done much to raise public awareness of the elephant and the important conservation issues that need to be tackled. Through art, we have always sought to bring the fun into supporting the elephant – vibrant, original and sometimes cutting edge designs that engage people with our elephants, our herds are always led by Mosha – a baby elephant whose story of over-coming adversity is symbolic of the challenges facing the future of the elephant today. We are delighted that Elephant Hill has chosen our designs for its new wine range and that it is working closely with our Charity Partner Elephant Family to support elephant conservation projects.”

Elephant Hill’s Andreas Weiss said: “We have been long-time supporters of wildlife and humanitarian projects. There is a large wooden elephant sculpture in the grounds of our winery, which was shipped over from Myanmar in recognition of my late father Roger Weiss’s philanthropic work there. We couldn’t think of a more perfect partnership for Elephant Hill.”

Elephant Family trustee Ruth Powys added: “While the world inhabited by wild elephants may seem a long way from New Zealand, the heart of Asian elephant territory lies equidistant between our headquarters in London and Hawke’s Bay, and it seems fitting that such an iconic, global animal is receiving support from this truly international partnership.”
