ForSea appoints new CEO

The Board of Directors of ForSea AB have appointed Kristian Durhuus as the company’s new CEO. He will join ForSea on June 15th.

“We are very pleased to announce that Kristian Durhuus will be joining ForSea as the new CEO. Kristian is a talented executive with more than 25 years of experience. From his work with organizations such as Copenhagen Airport and G4S, he has a great track record in driving growth and in improving the experience for passengers,” says Rasmus Christiansen, chairman of the Board of Directors at ForSea AB.

Since 2011, Kristian Durhuus has held the position of COO of Copenhagen Airport. Prior to that, he held managing roles within a number of larger organizations including LSG Lufthansa Service and G4S. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Economics and International Management from Copenhagen Business School.

“I’m very excited to join ForSea and highly motivated to take on the role of CEO. With great interest, I have followed ForSea’s journey as it has become a leader in the region for sustainable transportation. I look forward to helping drive the organization forward on this path It is certainly a challenging and uncertain time for the whole European transportation sector, but I am confident that ForSea will continue to play an important role as a regional connector of people for many years to come,” says Kristian Durhuus.

Kristian Durhuus succeeds Jens Ole Hansen, who has been acting as interim CEO of ForSea since February and who will now continue in his position as COO.

“It has been a privilege to lead ForSea as interim CEO the last couple of months, and I am excited that Kristian will now be joining us. The past months have been a unique and challenging time due to the COVID-19 outbreak, but I feel very proud of how we, as a team across borders, have been able to handle the situation. Since the Danish border restrictions were introduced in March, ForSea has continued to sail with up to 100 departures daily. ForSea is an important part of the region’s infrastructure, and we have ensured continuous transport of goods and, not least, hundreds of daily commuters,”says Jens Ole Hansen.
