The Veranda Restaurant at the Grand Hôtel Opens Major Pop-Up During the UEFA European Football Championship

This summer the Grand Hôtel will be offering a completely new experience on the football scene in Stockholm. The Veranda restaurant is opening a major pop-up restaurant in the Winter Garden, showing UEFA Euro football matches in June and July. A unique restaurant experience with 360° projection technology will put guests right in the middle of all the action. Combined with a menu from the Veranda, this marks an unbeatable experience.

From the start of the UEFA Euros on June 11 through to the finals on July 11, the Winter Garden at the Grand Hôtel is being transformed into a vibrant football and restaurant experience with clear sports influences. The largest event space in the hotel, the Winter Garden is equipped with world-class wall projection technology – now being used in a sports context for the first time. The hotel’s technology partner, Creative Technology, will be projecting every wall creating a football stadium vibe.

We host all sorts of events every year in the Winter Garden and it feels extra fun to use this immense event space and in particular our state-of-the-art technology to show sporting events. During the football championships, the Winter Garden will transform into a Veranda restaurant pop-up, serving a menu featuring classic Veranda favorites along with a few select football-inspired dishes. In order to simplify flow and maximize the experience for guests, all food will be ordered at the table via an app. Seating is limited and reservations are made via the Grand Hotel website. All applicable restrictions and recommendations from the Swedish Public Health Agency will be followed.

I think it’s fantastic that guests can enjoy Beef Rydberg or a Wallenbergare while watching football, but there’s something for everyone on the menu and naturally, those who’d just like a drink are also welcome,” says Karl Persson Food and Beverage Manager, Grand Hôtel.

The Grand Hôtel will be showing select UEFA Euro 2021 matches. The Winter Garden will open an hour before the start of the match.
