Press release -

The ROCKWOOL Group, the leading provider of stone wool solutions, invests in land in the Stockholm region

The Danish industrial Group, ROCKWOOL, has today confirmed the purchase of 180,000 square meters of land in the Eskilstuna Logistics Park (Eskilstuna Logistikpark), which will lay the foundation for future expansion to serve the Swedish construction market. The future facility has the potential to create about 150 new jobs in Eskilstuna.

"Eskilstuna continues to deliver as a strong place of establishment and we see a great interest both nationally and internationally, ROCKWOOL will be the second major international establishment in Eskilstuna this year. It shows that our hard work pays off,” says Jimmy Jansson (S), chairman of the municipal council.

This project represents the sixth company to establish a major presence in or around Eskilstuna, in the past year. Just recently, Amazon Web Services chose Eskilstuna for its business location. Other companies now building in the Eskilstuna Logistics Park include Teknikmagasinet, Arken Zoo, the Sportamore e-commerce company and Frode Laursen, a logistics company.

We have well-established market activities in Sweden, and over the past years we have seen steady growth in our position. This investment reflects our customer centric strategy by bringing us closer to the market and customer demand for fire-safe stone wool products. We look forward to a strong partnership with the community and to contributing to the local economy,” says Henrik Frank Nielsen, Senior Vice President at ROCKWOOL.
