WeWork opens first Nordic location in Stockholm

The American community platform WeWork today announced its expansion into Stockholm. During the spring of 2019, the first location of the leading provider of shared office space around the globe will open its doors at the newly renovated property Urban Escape, offering office and community space for 1000 future members.

Stockholm is home to one of the leading tech scene’s in the world and has an incredible innovation power and pioneering spirit. Our mission is to give our members the space, community, services, and flexibility they need to bring energy and inspiration to their work, while fostering collaborations with like-minded people who can help their businesses grow and succeed.” says Wybo Wijnbergen, General Manager, WeWork Northern Europe.

WeWork creates an approximate 2x economic multiplier for cities, meaning every WeWork location with 1,000 members can create an additional 1,000 net new jobs through indirect and induced employment.

“We have enjoyed working with WeWork on their entry into the Stockholm market and are looking forward to growing the innovation ecosystem together. WeWork is not only creating more space for Swedish innovation to flourish, but has a strong reputation of enhancing economic activity to its neighbourhoods by bringing spending to local restaurants and shops”, says Anna Gissler, CEO of Invest Stockholm.

WeWork is a global company with a local playbook.

"In Stockholm, we aim to provide our members with the best in local programming and services, designed by a local team, while leveraging what we’ve learned in our 270+ locations around the world to provide high-amenity, best-in-class spaces. By expanding WeWork in the Nordics, WeWork members will benefit from more location options and a wider group of members from various industries, who can share advice and business ideas, and utilize each other’s skill sets”, ends Wybo Wijnbergen, General Manager, WeWork Northern Europe.

The first location to open, Regeringsgatan 27, Urban Escape, will be in the heart of the city centre. This convenient location is also located right next to Stockholm Central underground station, so members can travel easily throughout the city.
