JIBS is Sweden’s first double accredited business school

Press release -

JIBS is Sweden’s first double accredited business school

Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) at Jönköping University, is the first and, so far, only institution in Sweden to be awarded the quality accreditation by AACSB. In March this year, JIBS received the EQUIS accreditation, which means that JIBS places itself among the top 0.1 % business schools in the world, and as the only double accredited by EQUIS and AACSB business school in Sweden.

In spring 2015, JIBS was awarded with the EQUIS accreditation by EFMD which means that JIBS is now part of an elite group of only around 100 business schools worldwide that are double accredited.

“In the last four years we have worked hard to expose JIBS to the toughest international scrutiny, and it is fantastic that we have now succeeded with this double target – EQUIS and AACSB means ‘two for two’ for us”, says Johan Roos, Dean and Managing Director for JIBS. “But this success is a means not an end. It confirms JIBS’ strategy and how we work with education, research and social footprint. Above all, JIBS faculty, staff and students should feel really proud”, says Johan Roos.

The double-accreditation places JIBS on the map as a business school of absolute top international class. According to Johan Roos, the new accreditation will benefit JIBS in several ways.

“AACSB accreditation makes our educational programmes, JIBS and also Jönköping University as a whole more attractive”, he says. “It also means that the students, after completing their education, will get even more power in their applications for attractive jobs. Since we are the first business school in Sweden that has received this stamp of approval for our quality, it will also be easier for us to attract students and employees from all world.”
