COSMOPOLITAN ELEGANCE DEFINES KASTHALL’S NEW HARPER RUG

​The Harper rug, designed by Ellinor Eliasson, is part of Kasthall’s new collection Colors In Between, which was launched at Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair 2020. Kasthall Design Studio’s collection pays homage to the company’s rich archive of patterns and materials, as preserved in the historic factory in Kinna.

Harper is a discreet and restrained wool rug that takes the “less is more” approach. The rug’s subtle stripes and the refined mixed shades of the woolen yarn evoke the cut of a tailored suit. The two-thread warp adds a touch of lightness that is equally at home in a stylish domestic and sophisticated public setting. It also makes a great addition to small spaces such as halls and stairs.

“My inspiration for Harper came from timeless tweed, a tailored pinstripe suit in an androgynous look that is both masculine and feminine at the same time, with a cosmopolitan elegance,” says designer Ellinor Eliasson.

Harper is available in eight color scales: Dark Lavender, Ocean Mist, Golden Ash, Charcoal, Silver Willow, Pine Tree, Redwood and Sand Dune. At Kasthall’s factory, the colors of the melange yarn are twisted together to create a unique blend that is then woven into the rug. Harper is a prime example of the interplay between the design studio’s creative work and the color expertise and artisanal perfection for which Kasthall is renowned.

All the manufacturing takes place at the Kinna factory in Sweden. Like all Kasthall rugs, Harper is available as a bespoke product, made to order.
