Software investor Monterro divests Grade

Monterro, the leading Nordic growth investor in B2B software companies, has divested Grade, a fast-growing Human Capital Management SaaS company, to Viking Venture.

When Grade was acquired by Monterro in 2015, it offered an e-learning and learning management platform. During Monterro’s ownership, Grade has transitioned into a comprehensive SaaS platform for talent management with more than 680,000 users in the Nordics, from mid and large sized private companies to public organizations. The platform increases employees’ productivity, engagement and retention while integrating with HR and regulatory compliance systems.

- “We are really proud of the performance and growth that the entire Grade team have accomplished”, says Thomas Bill, co-founder of Monterro and board member at Grade.
-“Our mission at Monterro is to offer B2B software entrepreneurs the strategic and hands-on support they need to tackle the challenges that arise during their growth journey. We’re happy to see how Grade successfully has scaled their business and look forward to following them in the future”, he says.

Rickard Kajson, CEO of Grade adds:
- “Together with Monterro, we collaborated on a strategic plan for growth, and step-by-step transitioned both the platform and business model. It has resulted in a competitive product suite, yearly growth of +20%, a recurring revenue model with 3x increased ACV, entry into the private sector with several prestigious customers wins, and a solid SaaS organisation ready to take us to the next level”.

Clearwater International acted as financial advisor to Monterro and Kanter as its legal advisor.
