Announcement of the Nobel Peace Prize 2018

The Norwegian Nobel Committee will announce the Nobel Peace Prize for 2018 on Friday 5 October at 11.00 CEST.

The press conference takes place at the Norwegian Nobel Institute in Henrik Ibsens gate 51, Oslo. It is open for media only and accreditation is required. Accreditation information available here.

There is also a possibility to watch the announcement live on a big screen at the Nobel Peace Center in Oslo. The announcement will also be streamed live on our website. 

Note! Photo-op for the media: On Friday 5 October, at about 14.00 CET, the blue room called the Nobel Field at the Nobel Peace Center will be updated with this years' Nobel Peace Prize laureate. Please contact Ingvill Bryn Rambøl at ibr@nobelpeacecenter.org to attend.

Saturday 6 October, the Nobel Peace Center celebrates the new Peace Prize laureate(s) with a rich program and an open day with free entry for all visitors.

The new laureate(s) is presented in our permanent exhibitions. At app 12:20, Junior Experts from the Children’s Peace Club will talk to the visitors about the new laureate. Some of these children may be available to the press upon request.

At 13:00, this years’ Nobel Peace Prize Diploma will be revealed, and a lecture about the 2018 Nobel Peace Prize laureate(s) will be held by the secretary of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, Olav Njølstad. The lecture will be in English.
