Press release -

Pensionera.se is the winner of Optimizer Invest’s start-up competition

Fintech company Pensionera.se was selected as winner at the final pitch held in Marbella on November 21st.

Since September Optimizer Invest has been running a worldwide Start’up Hunt to find their next portfolio company. The prize was an impressive investment of up to 15 Million SEK and the opportunity to join the Optimizer portfolio.

Hundreds of applicants entered the competition. Three companies were picked out as finalists.

The final contestants participated in a thrilling final held in Marbella on 21 November. All companies had the opportunity to pitch their business idea before a jury, which consisted of the founding partners of Optimizer as well as members from group management. After hours of deliberation, Pensionera.se was chosen as the final winner.

Pensionera.se was founded in 2013 and is often referred to as “a Spotify for pension savings”. The company offers independent pension services online. In doing that, it clearly visualizes the entire retirement savings, it provides information on how the savings can be adapted to increase pensions, and it actively gives advice when the market changes in a way that the pension owner should know about. The business model is completely impartial and is not commissioned based, which means no kickback from funds, which ensures maximum pensions for its users.

Carla Maree Vella, CEO of Optimizer Invest, comments:

”Fintech is a top area of interest for us at the moment. Pensionera.se is solving a big problem for a lot of people by creating transparency in an industry that is known for not being so transparent. They have successfully built a state of the art technical platform that will revolutionize how people take care of their pensions. Their system is by far the most advanced and easy to use in the market. We are delighted to welcome them into our portfolio and we look forward to working with them and helping them accelerate their business”.

Alexander Pärleros, one of the founders and main owner of Pensionera.se, comments:

“To end up as the final winner in such a big competition, where so many qualified entrepreneurs participated, is an astonishing honour. During the process, we have gotten to know the team behind Optimizer Invest. They are the perfect partner for us. Their first-hand experience on how to build successful businesses, together with their exceptionally driven mindset will definitely be a great asset to us. We look forward to working closely with Optimizer as we expand our business to a global market.

Pensionera.se will remain in Stockholm and work closely together with the Optimizer Invest team.
