Press release -

Self-monitoring for a healthier self with world’s most advanced body composition smart scale, easy smartphone connectivity.

As seen on ITV’s The Fast Fix Diabetes (launched June 14th), people are increasingly using “medical devices” for self-monitoring, keeping track of their health in the comfort of their own home, and doing what’s required to improve their wellbeing. A major bonus is that results can be shared daily or weekly with health professionals via the My Tanita app, or other health applications.

Tanita Corporation, the world leader in medical and consumer precision smart scales and body composition analysers, offers various smart scales that provide a multitude of body composition readings to help monitor weight, healthy eating and physical exercise for improved health and wellbeing.

The participants in the ITV program “The Fast Fix Diabetes” used the Tanita RD-953 Body Composition Monitor to monitor their health and changes in their body composition at home. Losing fat and gaining quality muscle mass, has a positive effect, when fighting diabetes. These body composition readings can be measured daily.

The RD-953 uses Dual Frequency Bioelectric Impedance Analysis (BIA) technology provides clinical grade accuracy to the body composition analysis process by providing essential data of a person’s intracellular and extracellular status.

No other Bluetooth-enabled smart scale on the market offers such a wide array of benefits as the Tanita RD-953 that provides in-depth analysis of over 10 body composition readings including muscle quality. In addition to providing a ‘muscle quality reading’, the RD-953 also measures weight, body fat, muscle mass, physique rating, bone mass, visceral fat, basal metabolic rate, metabolic age, total body water, and BMI.

The RD-953 builds upon Tanita’s very successful line-up of existing radio wireless body composition analysers. Unique recognition software allows a user to simply stand on the scale, which then automatically take readings for that user. This makes it extremely easy and comfortable to use for any age.

Measurements are displayed with colour coded indicators providing an instant review of body status. And with the integrated Bluetooth 4.0 Technology, measurements are uploaded to the free My Tanita Mobile App in seconds. The outcome data can be shared with health professionals, who can give an in depth advice based on the measurements.

Tracking progress is simple with easy-to-read charts, graphs and helpful assessments, perfect for fine-tuning any fitness or wellness activity. The RD-953 is available in black, white and red, is powered by 4 AA batteries (included) and comes with an unmatched 5-year warranty for € 204.95 / £ 180,--.
