Significant recognition for Unisport – awarded for the best company in Kasvutarina 2018

Unisport has been selected as a winner of the Finnish Venture Capital Association and PwC's annual Growth Builder 2018 contest. More than 700 companies participated in this year’s competition. Together with the help of Vaaka Partners, the company has managed to multiply its turnover in a short time and become the Nordic market leader in sports facilities surfaces and equipment. The winner of the contest was nominated by a jury composed of experts in the fields of business, communications and investors. The jury was reassured by Unisport's unique growth story, where growth has happened both organically and rapidly through acquisitions.

“Internationalization and vision are unique in Unisport’s story. The company has managed to get ahead of development through acquisitions and to ensure that international growth opportunities will continue in the future,"
commented the chairman of the jury and the new CEO of Vake Oy, Taneli Tikka. "Unisport is a great example of co-operation between a company and an investor, with competent management creating brilliant results together."

"This recognition is a great prize for work done. We have done significant things, and we get more power to continue the path of growth. Together with Vaaka, we intend to continue seamless co-operation and strategy in line with growth, both organically and in the form of acquisitions, with the aim of improving the company,"
says Mikko Kilpeläinen, CEO of Unisport.
