Two new business development and project managers to Uppsala BIO

Helena Ströberg and Magnus Engevik begin work in January as new business development and project managers at Uppsala BIO. Both have solid experience from the business world as well as innovation support organisations.

“With the recruitment of Helena and Magnus, we further expand Uppsala BIO’s network of life science skills and contacts, both nationally and regionally,” says Erik Forsberg, CEO Uppsala BIO.

Helena Ströberg has most recently been responsible for Uppsala Innovation Centre’s business development programmes UIC Business Lab and UIC Business Prep. Her previous roles include Global Brand Manager at Galderma, Global Product Marketing Manager and Key Account Manager at GE Healthcare Life Sciences, and Technical Support Specialist at Amersham Biosciences.

Magnus Engevik comes from a position as Investment Manager at Almi Invest. He has also worked at SLU Holding as well as the former ‘Innovationsbron’ with responsibility for Sweden’s incubator programme. Global Product Manager at Pharmacia Biotech and Phadia, as well as Director of Business Development at Phadia Corporate Office, are also included in Magnus’ work experience.

“Uppsala BIO is in an interesting development phase. We work very actively with our region’s companies and here Helena and Magnus are important new assets. Their understanding of how companies in different phases need to be supported to secure their development will be invaluable. Both will work very closely with small and medium-sized enterprises as well as with major international companies. Collaboration with the Swedish national innovation support system is also one of their tasks,” comments Erik Forsberg.
