New robotic welding cell will improve productivity and quality
Purus' production company in Smålandsstenar, BLS Stainless AB, has started work on the installation of a new ABB Flexarc robotic welding cell.
Initially the robot will replace an existing robotic welding cell designed for MIG welding of some of the components for, amongst other things, our popular toilet models V130, V131 and V135. The new cell will also be equipped with TIG welding facilities, which will also allow automated robotic welding of some of our floor gully models, for example.
Mikael Bard, site manager at BLS Stainless AB, expects the installation to be complete by the end of the year.
" Our staff are undergoing training and a number of new fixtures and products will be brought on stream. The aim is to achieve a significant improvement in productivity and quality," says Mikael Bard.
During the course of 2016, an ever increasing number of components will be welded automatically, in order to maximise the investment and take advantage of the improvements in efficiency and quality offered by the cell.
