RISE and L’Oréal R&I reach a major milestone in the understanding how tactile acuity decreases with age

The quality of life of an aging population is increasingly important. How the touch sense is affected by age is relatively unknown today. A multidisciplinary team of researchers from RISE Research Institutes of Sweden and L’Oréal Research and Innovation have therefore developed a specific method allowing measurement and understanding of the reasons for reduced tactile acuity with age.

Swedish breakthrough in the development of biofuels

Sweden can be one step closer to a fossil-free fleet. This since the BioLi2.0 research project on a pilot scale managed to produce lignin-based biofuels that could work in common engines and be produced in existing oil refineries.

Digital rear-view mirrors on trucks improve traffic safety

With conventional rear-view mirrors, truck drivers struggle with limited fields of view and large blind spots around their trucks. A recently completed research project, DREAMS, conducted by Stoneridge Electronics AB, Scania, and RISE shows that digital rear-view mirror systems on trucks can reduce blind spots and add views that are difficult to obtain with conventional mirrors.
