20NINE and Africa’s largest mobile payment provider launched 20NINE's Business app to digitise Kenyan MSMEs
Stockholm, Sweden - January 8, 2024. The Fintech platform 20NINE and Africa’s largest mobile payment provider just launched 20NINE's affordable business app that enables MSMEs in Kenya to digitise their operations.
There are more than 7,5 million MSMEs in Kenya who create 90% of all jobs and contribute to nearly 50% of the Kenyan GDP. However, up to 80% of MSMEs fail within the first five years, despite having among the highest entrepreneurship rates in the world. The lack of cost-effective business apps targeting the needs of MSMES is one of the key blockers for MSMEs.
Andreas Lalangas, CEO and Founder of 20NINE commented on the launch, “We are proud to get the opportunity to launch our MSME focused business app in Kenya with our partner. It is a significant step on our journey to digitise businesses and society in general with our affordable and easy-to-use solutions."
This initiative is a testament to 20NINE's commitment to digitise the underserved segments of society in leapfrogging markets.
