Box Distillery establishes co-operative relationship with Scottish counterpart

For the first time ever, a Scottish and a Swedish distillery have established a co-operative relationship that will result in an exciting new product that unites the best of two whisky worlds.

Within a short period of time Box Distillery, one of the worlds’ most northerly whisky distilleries, has gained an outstanding reputation in whisky circles. The new distillerys’ first releases of young whisky have been extremely well received and Box has shown the whisky world that it is possible to compensate for shorter maturing times with passion, knowledge and a desire to innovate. Thanks to this, there is a growing curiosity for Box in the worlds’ whisky drinking nations, not least in Scotland. The new co-operative relationship between one of Islays’ most famous distilleries and Swedish Box is confirmation of this. Janne Groth, Brand Manager at Box, explains -

Box Distillery came on stream at the end of 2010. Today the distillery is in operation six days a week and produces just over 100 000 litres per year. The distillery lies in the World Heritage Region Höga Kusten in the north of Sweden and employs 12 people. Read more at www.boxwhisky.se
