Specialist care with a holistic approach

Atleva Specialistvård AB is a Swedish healthcare provider specialising in hand surgery, foot surgery and pain care, with focuson long-term non-malignant pain. Within the organisation there is also a clinic specialising in the prevention of ill health, acting as a health care partner to anyone wanting to make good health a main priority.

Atleva Specialistvård was founded in 2008 by doctors who wanted to make a difference and create better opportunities for a more person-centered and holistic care. The business has expanded rapidly, today with 11 clinics in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Linköping, Mariestad and Malmö, but stays true to the mission of creating better care with a more holistic approach.

“Our core values remain the same today, as from the very beginning, and they highlight the importance of seeing the patient for who they are, feeling empathy for them in their situation, and by that providing care that is completely tailored to the patient’s needs. We exist because we want to make a difference, we want to be involved in influencing and optimising care for our patients. We stand for high availability, great efficiency and quality”, CEO Ulrika Olbe underlines.

Putting patient’s experience first

The patient’s care journey with Atleva has been carefully created and evaluated over time. Many who visit healthcare today feel that they must repeat their medical history and describe their current condition over and over. That is not how Atleva wants to work.

“We believe that the patient’s experience of the care we provide should be that it is efficient with high competence and quality. Most importantly, they must feel that we are there for them all the way”, says Ulrika Olbe.

Atleva provides care in a different and even unique way.

“I would like to point out that a large part of the uniqueness of our organisation is that we, together with our employees, have created a workplace with a high level of satisfaction and a strong camaraderie, which means that our patients feel the great atmosphere that exists in our clinics”, Ulrika explains.

“We want the patient to feel safe and comfortable from start to finish, therefore we attach great importance to being able to offer the entire course of care within our clinics, this means that we have gathered the expertise around the patient all the way, which in turn means that the treatment time is usually shorter for the patient”.

Everyone is a specialist

At Atleva, every single employee is a specialist. All employees have many years of clinical experience and are carefully selected according to competence and ability in their field of activity.

“Our fantastic and committed employees who always put our patients first and have a burning interest in the care we provide, are what makes us successful”, says Ulrika.

Specialist competence in all disciplines is becoming increasingly difficult to find. Therefore, Atleva has expanded the training activities at all clinics. Being a development-oriented organisation, Atleva offers great opportunities for all employees to contribute to the development of the care provided.

Development for the future

In order to be able to meet the patient of the future and their care needs, Atleva must always strive to improve.

“This means that we continuously work with follow-up and evaluation of the care we provide. We think it is important to build on cooperation and collaboration with other actors through joint research, studies and fellowship as a natural part of our future development. This is also a strong motive for us to move all three Gothenburg-based clinics to GoCo Health Innovation City in 2023”, Ulrika Olbe reveals.
