Axel Johnson International Grows Its Power Transmission Offering in Italy Through the Acquisition of FIMO S.p.A.

Axel Johnson International’s business group Power Transmission Solutions (“PTS”) improves its market position and customer offering in Italy through the strategic acquisition of FIMO S.p.A. With over 50 years of experience distributing mechanical components and services to the industry, FIMO is a recognized solutions provider, with a focus on the ceramic tile manufacturing sector.

FIMO is a family-owned power transmission distributor founded by Mr. Sergio Tassi and Mr. Giulio Fontana in 1969. Its head office is in Sassuolo, Emilia-Romagna, an area known for its cluster of ceramic tile manufacturers. FIMO offers a complete solution, specialized in components, systems and services intended for ceramic tile production. The company’s largest product segments include electrical and mechanical drives, pneumatics and hydraulics, cooling systems and air compressors.

FIMO’s product range and service capabilities strongly complement those of other PTS companies, enabling broader support for industrial customers focused on reducing downtime, planning maintenance, and achieving energy savings. With this addition, PTS further enhances its ability to serve the entire ceramic tile production process and reinforce its offering to the ceramics industry.
