Axel Johnson International Merges Power Transmission Solutions and Industrial Automation Under New Leadership
Axel Johnson International has decided to merge its business groups Power Transmission Solutions and Industrial Automation into one unified business group, operating under the name Power Transmission Solutions. Anton Kullh has been appointed Managing Director of the merged business group.
The new business group will become the third largest within Axel Johnson International, with approximately EUR 500 million in net sales and around 1,700 employees across more than 20 countries.
The merger brings together two complementary businesses that serve similar industrial customers and share strong technical expertise. Power Transmission Solutions is a leading European provider of bearings and transmission solutions, while Industrial Automation has built a strong position within selected automation niches since 2022.
“This is a natural next step in the development of both businesses,” says Martin Malmvik, CEO of Axel Johnson International. “By combining their strengths, we create a stronger platform for growth, improved customer offerings, and increased knowledge sharing.”
Anton Kullh Appointed Managing Director for Power Transmission Solutions
Anton Kullh, currently Managing Director of Industrial Automation, will lead the new business group.
“Anton brings a strong combination of strategic, technical, and leadership capabilities, along with experience from several industrial sectors,” says Martin Malmvik. “He is well positioned to lead the next phase of development.”
“I am honored by the trust and excited about the opportunities ahead,” says Anton Kullh. “Together, we will strengthen collaboration, enhance our offering, and continue to support our customers in improving productivity and performance.”
The merger builds on a strong foundation established under the leadership of Ola Sjölin, who will remain involved and support the transition through 2027.
The new organization will take effect in September 2026.
