Axel Johnson International Strengthens Power Transmission Presence in the Netherlands by Acquiring WPE Aandrijftechniek
Spruit Aandrijftechniek, part of business group Power Transmission Solutions, expands its geographical presence in the Netherlands by acquiring service company WPE Aandrijftechniek. Located in industrial key area Vlaardingen, Rotterdam, the acquisition of WPE offers an opportunity for Spruit to grow in the region.
WPE is a recognized specialist in the power transmission industry, known for its established service offering and extensive product knowledge. Its focus is on maintenance and service, including renovation and regeneration of motors, gearboxes and other transmission products. Together, Spruit and WPE can now offer a comprehensive solution: from inspecting large gearboxes to handling the smallest components.
"Through the addition of WPE, we combine our product portfolio to WPE’s strong service offering, which perfectly aligns with our long-term strategy of growing MRO sales and strengthening our service capabilities. It also allows us to expand our market presence and better serve our customers in the Rotterdam region with increased efficiency," says Pieter Van Wijnsberge, Managing Director, Spruit Group.
Founded in 2016, WPE is specialized in inspection, overhaul, and repair. The company practices a circular business model by encouraging its customers to renovate and refurbish their motors rather than replacing them. With a well-equipped workshop, the company is capable of handling both routine maintenance as well as complex repairs. WPE’s skilled service technicians provide services both in-house and on-site, enabling a swift and flexible response to market demands. Additionally, they offer disassembly and assembly services at a special rate.
WPE will maintain its brand name but will now operate as part of Spruit Group.
