Forankra Group Acquires Locatum AB, Strengthening Marine Cargo Securing in Northern Europe
Forankra Group, part of Axel Johnson International’s Transport Solutions business group, has acquired Locatum AB, a Swedish specialist in cargo securing solutions for marine transport. The acquisition strengthens Forankra Group’s position in marine cargo securing and supports continued growth in Northern Europe and the Baltic Sea.
Locatum brings deep technical expertise, a strong reputation with service, safety and reliability, and working closely with customers within dry cargo and marine shipping. Founded in 1983 and headquartered in Vårgårda, Sweden, the company has five permanent employees and a flexible network of contracted resources, all of whom will become part of the group.
By combining Locatum’s specialist product and application know-how, inspection services and rental offering with Forankra Group’s broader product portfolio and industrial platform, the acquisition creates a stronger and more complete offering for customers operating in marine transport. It also provides Locatum with a long-term owner and the resources needed to further develop its business and expand in existing and new markets.
“Joining Forankra Group and Axel Johnson International gives us access to a strong industrial platform that will support our continued growth and long-term development as a company,” says Mikael Axelsson, Owner and Managing Director, Locatum.
“Locatum is a well-run company with strong expertise and customer-first approach that align closely with ours,” says Peter Arvidsson, Managing Director, Forankra Group. “This acquisition strengthens our marine offering and creates a solid platform for continued development and long-term growth.”
Following completion of the transaction, Locatum will continue to operate under its existing brand and organization as part of Forankra Group.
